Grace and Aaron fell in love with the charm of the little farming town of Winters, California and when they stumbled upon Field and Pond they knew it was where they wanted to plan their intimate fall wedding. The charming venue backs up to Lake Berryessa and features a historic barn adorned with Restoration Hardware chandeliers. With such amazing details, the couple knew they wanted their wedding design to incorporate elements from the venue they loved so much. After bringing on board Jenn Robirds Events to assemble the right team and design all the details, the couple landed on a burgundy and blush palette perfect for fall on the quaint ranch.
Jenn Robirds Events partnered with stationer Little Bird Paper Company to create the most beautiful rendering of the iconic ceremony oak tree and historic barn that was lovingly letter pressed into the invitation suites and menus. Shimmer and Stain created an incredible acrylic escort display that featured Little Bird’s venue renderings and wax seals that perfectly matched the color palette. Florals from Violette Fleurs showcased stunning garden roses and fresh fruit including grapes as a subtle nod to the family’s wine business. Velvet linens from La Tavola matched the season perfectly and walnut farm tables from Celebrations Party Rentals and Tents were the perfect rustic detail at the ranch. Unexpected satin napkins made things feel just a bit more elegant and were the perfect touch to the tabletop design. 18” petal colored taper candles added height to the design and a gorgeous ambience during the dinner at sunset.
The menu was farm to fork inspired and Farm to Table Catering created the perfect autumn family style meal featuring acorn squash stuffed with faro, golden beats, turnips and goat cheese, along with butternut squash ravioli topped with fried sage, and salmon with forest mushrooms drowned in sherry and cream. Thanks to the bride’s family winery, the wine pairings with the meal were strategically planned and created for a one-of-a kind guest experience. As the perfect parting gift, guests took home personalized bottles of the family wine they enjoyed that night making for a wedding favor we’re pretty sure everyone will use!
Throughout the course of planning, Grace was busy finishing law school and passing the bar. She had an easy-going approach to the day and allowed Jenn and her team to focus on the details. To make the week of her wedding even more crazy, she was in her first trial! On the actual day of the wedding, the couple opted for their personal vows to be alone after the first look which made for an intimate moment the couple remembers fondly. Grace was a dream in a timeless strapless gown with her hair down in loose curls, while Aaron started the day in his marine attire and switched to a classic midnight blue suit after the ceremony. Their puppy, Declan, was entrusted as the ring bearer and was suited up in his most formal attire.
Check out some of my favorites from their day below!
